We finished our first face to face meeting on Saturday, and I was pleased with the opportunity to reconnect with cohort group students and meet our three new students: Mahima, Steve and Sheila. This was our first try at having our out-of-state students participate through video conferencing and although we had a few hitches, it seemed to work quite well. The way we had the room arranged, it felt as though Becky and Lynn were right with us-----and although we could not see Kristin, I think she had a better sound connection on Skype.
We will take it a bit easy this week-----we will share "gears of our childhood" in our discussion and prepare for a discussion of all three readings next week.

I enjoyed the meeting on Saturday. It showed me that we can effectivelyy use videconferencing without major technical problems. But there is a lot to control in one room and we can't do all by just pushing a button,... not yet :)
I enjoyed our meeting as well and am excited that the videoconferencing worked well for everyone.
1 question... the readings on the Aug 23 row of the schedule, are they due by Sept 2? I have started, just want to make sure I'm finished in time.

Yes, the August 23 readings should be completed by Sept. 2----we will discuss the readings next week. For this week, you need to post our examples of "gears from my childhood."

I enjoyed seeing everyone on this Saturday. I'm just sorry I had to run out so quickly. Long story short... my wife's wallet was stolen at the mall and I had to help tend to that. We think we've gotten everything taken care of now, though.
